I’ve been holding out so long
I’ve been sleeping all alone
Lord I miss you
Last night I danced to the Rolling Stones song “Miss You.” Prior to that, I had been talking about my brother Ronny. Lord, I miss him.
In this season of celebration it is difficult for some to move forward due to the departure of those close to them. The first Christmas without Ronny was terribly sad and difficult. Even the kids were quiet that year. But, I was also grateful to remember him, honor him, and be with my entire family.
Ronny and his wife Mel, paved the way for me to attend therapy school. Without that experience I’m clueless to where I would be in this world now. In other words, Ronny’s life touched me on many levels.
Today is Ronny’s Earth Birthday. I’m not sure where you go when you die, but physically they don’t call Mother Earth home.
Ronny was a clown, a good friend, a traveler, a person who made people feel comfortable. Unfortunately, he became lost in life and left this world way to soon. Twenty-six years later, people still talk about him and share a tale of Ron or Turk. I still talk to Ronny, I still dream about him, I still relate to him.
